INTRODUCTION OF KUNG - FU AS A MARTIAL ART
In its original meaning kung fu can refer to any skill GONGFU( YR+y) is a compound of two words combining YR (gong) meaning “achievements” “ merit”, and +Y(FU) which translates in to “man “,os that a literal meaning wood be “human achievement “ or an accomplishment arrived at by great effort .originally, to practice kung fu did not just mean to practice Chinese martial arts ,instead, it referred to the process of one ‘s training the strengthening of the body and the mind ,the learning and the perfection of ones skills .it refers to excellence achieved through long practice in any end eavour.
Kung fu and wushu are terms that have been borrowed into English refer to Chinese martial arts.
According to a legend famous Indian monk bodhidharma travelled to china and introduced kung fu martial arts forms to his Chinese disciples he started training them in what is known as 18LOhAN and movements which were then developed into 72 techniques which formed the basis of shaolin kung fu.
These forms later evolved into 170 techniques divided into FIVE ANIMAL styles
